Slot Input Screen

These "generic," Pro/Engineer models that encompass all the different variations are typically very complex. We don’t expect every engineer to understand the intricacies of these models. The other piece of the puzzle is to develop a custom user environment that any of the engineers can use. This is typically structured as a series of input parameters or "questions" about the desired product. In the past, most of the user input screens and calculations were done in Pro/NOTEBOOK. This method is changing into user environments that are embedded into web browsers by either using Pro/Web.Link or stand-alone web pages.

The Figure below shows a small part of a input screen done in Pro/NOTEBOOK. Currently, the variables for each dimension are shown and can easily be toggled to show the numerical values. To change a dimension, the user simply clicks on the dimension and types the new value - It's That Easy!

A typical assembly with hundreds of components can have as many or as few input variables as desired by the engineers. Variables that are not input, are calculated. The assembly components then "morph" to their new shape and size based on the questions answered by the engineer.
